So a few weeks back, le beau and I went to the NYC to do a little apartment hunting for our upcoming big move. This trip entailed a lot of walking through neighborhoods and seeing what we liked. While venturing through the infamous Soho neighborhood, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant named, Kittichai. Now at first sight, Robbie screamed out “kitty Cat? What do they serve?” lol but later realized the name of the restaurant was actual pronounced Kitti-CHAI.
The restaurant is very beautifully decorated. Very modern and fun, the restaurant features a pond in the middle.
Kittichai offers an awesome bottomless prix-fix brunch option, where you get your choice of brunch entrée and bottomless blood orange mimosas, lychee bellinis and spicy bloody mary’s. I decided to get the French toast, as most of the options had some kind of element of egg to them and I don’t eat eggs (crazy I know, I’m trying to change). The french toast was an Asian five spice french toast with a Thai basil and berry compote. The french toast it self was just ok to me, which I have to blame on the fact that I had an amazing brioche french toast the week prior at Bistro la Bonne , so this one was a bit lackluster in comparison but the thai basil sauce and compote was delicious. Robbie got the steak and eggs served with a very delicious sauce that really elevated all of the flavors in the dish. I even tried it, eggs and all, and it was truly a great meal. We finished off with a chocolate lava cake with a side of lychee ice cream that was superb.
One of my favorite parts of our meal were the drinks, they were very tasty and at no point was my glass empty. The waiters were very attentive and gave great service. Judging from the limited amount of food we tasted, I would definitely recommend Kittichai and would love to go back myself for lunch or dinner. The food was pretty good and the drinks were delicious. The service was pleasant and attentive.
I would rate Kittichai a 7/10, the get high marks for drinks, dessert and Robbie’s meal, my meal was a little lack luster but the service helped bust them up a bit. I also gave extra points for ambiance. The restaurant is very beautifully decorated. Very modern and fun, Kittichai features a pond in the middle. I would love to try some different options because from the looks of the menu I’m sure I could rate them higher next time.
Ahhh, I can’t wait til you’re in the city with me & we can brunch together!!
I definitely want to try this place, & I totally forgot your issues with eggs lol
That just means more of that awesome quiche you made for me 🙂
