NYFW 2016

    Unless you’re living under a rock, you should know that we are knee deep into NYFW 2016. This past weekend was a world wind of Fashion shows, events and parties. Unfortunately, my weekend was tarnished when my beloved dog, Melody, passed away suddenly. Her Addison’s disease got the better of her and we had to say goodbye to our best friend of only six years. I can’t lie, I have had swollen eyes for the better part of the weekend because of crying but I was able to pull it to together attend a few Fashion Week functions.

Today’s look, is what I wore on Sunday to check out Refinery 29’s 29 rooms. I was so happy to receive a special VIP ticket to avoid the 8 hr line that wrapped around the building. The exhibits were totally worth the wait though or maybe at least 2hrs or the wait. Refinery 29 did an amazing job of appealing to all of the sense and giving an unforgettable experience with media and art. I’ll have a recap video of the up soon.

In the mean time let get into today’s look. The weather in NYC is still hot as Hades but yesterday’s weather brought a bit of reprieve with the wind. I wore this layered ensemble which featured one of this year’s most popular trends, the slip dress. I actually love a good slip dress. It’s sexy, feminine and ultra chic. Only thing about it is, having a larger chest, it can come off too sexy. Now don’t get me wrong, on a date night, I’d be more than happy to give this dress the ultra sexy moment it deserves but for New York fashion week I wanted to be a bit more demur, so I layered it with this cute mustard crop top from H&M. This top helped out in more ways than one, it also acted as a nice transitional piece to bring this dress from, Hot Sexy Summer night, to Cool Fun Autumn Day.

I finished my look with some very cute frill flats from Zara, that were as comfortable as they were chic.
