My Morning Routine

As an entrepreneur, I’ve discovered that it is super important to have a solid morning routine. My morning routine sets the tone for my entire day and helps me to get in the right mind frame. After reading tons and tons of self development books and practicing it for quite some time now, I think I’ve pinpointed a great morning routine that works for me If you don’t have one hopefully my morning routine can be a great guide for you to create, or improve, your own.

  1. Wake-Up
I wake up at about 6:30-7 in the morning. I know that’s not super earlier but for someone who tends to work pretty late at night, it works for me.
  2. Gratitude/ Prayer/ Meditation
Before I do anything (ie. look at my phone) I pray and give thanks. I also do a bit of meditation to focus my mind and clear out any anxiety from the day before.
  3. Read
I usually read some scriptures from the Bible and maybe a couple of pages of the book I’m reading currently.
  4. Affirmations/ Listen to podcasts
Saying affirmation or incantations (as Tony Robbins like to call them), is a great way for me to recenter on what I want from life and to drill it into my subconscious mind so that I will do the things I need to do to reach my goals. I also listen to a few motivational podcasts (one being Darren Daily) to further nurture and reinforce my subconscious mind.
  5. Workout
Most Days, I do a 30-40 minute workout to get my body moving and blood flowing . Two of my favorite things to do right now are virtual Rumble classes or Banana Skirt Dance class.
  6. Make my hot lemon water, coffee and breakfast
I drink hot lemon water every morning to help with digestion . I love coffee but usually only do one cup a day to avoid the jitters. I tend to not be super hungry in the morning, so I usually drink a protein shake so I can have something in my system.
  7. Shower, get ready and review my to-do list/agenda for the day
Even when working for home, I make a point to get ready. It always puts me in the “working mindset”. I also check out the agenda/to-do list I prepared for myself the night before. Being organized in this way helps me to really stay on task and serve my clients to the best of my ability.

I hope you noticed in my morning routine, I don’t really mention the use of my phone to check emails or social media. I just feel like when I do, the anxiety sets in and I start to worry about the million things I have to do. I don’t know about you but I rather not start my day off like that.

I would love to hear from you about your morning routine. Are you an early riser or a snooze hitter? Let me know in the comments.
