I have to admit, I was not too keen on actually trying this trend because it accentuates my personal trouble spot, my arms. I decided to get over my irrational distain and try the trend on for size and here we are. I love these muscle t-shirts. They are chic and I feel like they go with practically anything. You can dress them up or down and they come in tons of different colors.
It seems the “original” padded muscle t-shirts were designed by one of my favorite designer, Dries Van Noten for his Spring 2019 line. From there, the cult favorite, the Frankie shop, made their own version and the trend eventually spread like wild fire.
The one I’m wearing in these photos is from nasty gal. I wanted to try out the trend before fully committing to the higher price versions. Now that I’ve tried it and love it, I think that I’ll get a few better quality versions (and possibly the dress version) from the Frankie shop. Here are some great options (a various price points) so you can try the trend out for yourself. Don’t say I didn’t warn you, you will be obsessed.
