Living in New York City is really teaching me to think outside of the box more. I have always been a bit of a rebel but living I feel like I need to try just a bit hard to standout amongst all of the other millions of rebels that call New York city home. I’m constantly coming up with new ways to mix and match my wardrobe (which had been reduced to a quarter of it’s original size to accommodate my tiny New York closets). This outfit came about it on of those I- don’t -have- anything-to-wear moments and I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
I’ve never been into it much but layering is super necessary in the cold New York City weather. After getting much practice, I think I finally have the formula that make the concept of laying work for me. I normally start with a pretty neutral base, here it’s the black jeans and tshirt, and then add pieces to that base which create more depth. I started with just the green coat on but thought it needed a bit more flare so I played around with a few more jackets and vests until I came up with the layers you see now. I could have also add some jewelry for a little sparkle but chose to keep the look more clean.
What do you all think and how do you do layers? I’d love some feed back.
Layered perfection!
