Ladies and the 5 gentleman that read this blog, sweater weather is official upon us. This weekend in NYC, we got our first taste of winter weather and I for one, have mixed emotions. On one hand I am not ready for the cold weather but on the other hand I’m looking forward to the holidays, winter activities and sweaters. I love a good sweater and there are a few that I feel are super essential. Here are 5 sweaters that you should wear this winter.
- Bold Color
There is nothing like a bold color to make an outfit pop, so a bold colored sweater is a necessity in the winter.

2. Sweater Dress
What can can be more quick and easy than a sweater dress in the winter? Nothing, that’s what. They come in so many different cuts, shape and styles and are super versatile. In this look, I styled an oversized sweater dress with thigh high boots, hat and a belt bag. Sweater dresses make the perfect layering pieces.

3. Turtleneck
Turtlenecks are probably my favorite type of sweater. They keep you extra warm and they are super chic. Try one in a cool color, like this mint one I’m wear.

4. Embellished Sweater
An embellished sweater is a great way to show some personality and to liven up an otherwise basic outfit. There are so many variations to choose from. Ones with fur embellishments (like the one I’m wearing), pearls, stripes, frills, fringe and so on. This is definitely one you have to add to your wardrobe.

5. Cardigan / Animal Print
This last one is actually two sweaters trends in one, animal print and cardigan. We all know that animal print is a huge trend this year and an animal print sweater is a perfect way to add the trend to your wardrobe. Of all of the sweater styles, the cardigan is the most versatile. You can layer it, wear it on it’s own, belt it, the options are endless.
