This was supposed to come out more toward the beginning of January but here we are, the first week in February and you are now reading it. Such is life. I started this year much like I do other years, with a long list of aspirations and intentions for the new year. But unlike many other years, I am still striving toward many of these aspirations and intentions , which makes the delay in writing this post a bit worth it.
As I did last year, I wanted to share some of my 2021 goals and intentions with you. Why? Well I’m glad you asked. For one, it could be great inspo for you in case you haven’t yet set your own. It’s never too late. Secondly, sharing these goals acts as accountability for me and if you know anything about goal setting, you know that accountability is an integral part of it. Lastly, sharing my goals gives me a point of reference for this time next year. Yes, I have written these intentions down somewhere already but it never hurts to have it in multiple places, such as the internet. ha
Ok, enough banter , let’s get into it. These are some of my 2021 Goals and Intentions.
- Grow My Team
At the second part of last year, this goal had become more and more necessary. With a thriving Real Estate business and me budding as a nano-influencer, while maintaining my own sanity and being a wife, I had become stretched way too thin for comfort. I really needed to add an assistant to my team that could help me with a lot of the mundane tasks.
Adding people to my team wasn’t only to just give me help. It’s also a way for me to be sort of a mentor to others and show them how they can grow like I did. How does the saying go, “Those who do, teach”. I’m happy to say that I have already knocked this goal out of the park by adding both an assistant and another sales agent to my team. - Work less but make more
My business grew exponentially last year, even during a pandemic and I believe that was in direct correlation to how hard I worked. But, if you’ve listened to any TV guru, you know working harder is not the key to success, working smarter is. Don’t me wrong, a little elbow grease is definitely needed to reach any goal but working on systems and delegating tasks is most certainly the route I’m taking this year. No more burn out, no more carrying every heavy load, I’m spreading the tasks out and that includes my home life. Yay for housekeepers!
- Connecting deeper with others
If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that we need each other. I had been so wrapped up in working and growing my businesses that I often forget to create and maintain meaningful connections with my friends. Of course, in life, we go through seasons but I want to start really connecting with my friends, family and community on a deeper level. I want to be more of a service to people around me. - Taking really time to recharge
As mentioned, I worked really hard last year and even at the start of this year and though self-care was a top priority of mine last year, I failed miserably at maintaining it. Even when I did do things that are forms of self-care, I wasn’t present. Always checking emails or instagram. This year is going to be and has started to be, different. I am taking days off, turning my phone off or not checking emails during times of self-care. I really want to enjoy my time alone and actually get the benefits of a recharge. - Having Fun
Another side effect of hustling so much is neglecting fun. I miss having just a day every now and again of pure fun. Though the pandemic makes it a little harder, it is totally possible to create some fun indoors or even outdoors, safely of course. I saw that there was a huge snowball fight in Washington Square Park a couple of days ago and I so wish I could have been there. Rest assured, this year, I’m going to start having lots more fun and enjoying my hard work. Catch me at the next snowball fight.
Welp that’s it for some of my goals. There are more but I can’t give you all of my material. I hope you can draw some inspiration from my 2021 Goals and intentions to create your own. Even if it’s one or two things. Take a moment, write it down and check back on your progress often (this is the step that’s hardest for me). I would love to hear about some of your goals in the comments.
