It’s been almost 2 year since I’ve rediscovered the joys of reading on a consistent basis and I have to say that I think I’m now a full fledged book worm. Last year, I had a goal of reading 30 books but ended only getting through 20. Though I didn’t make it to the goal number, 20 books is still a lot and I am proud to have gotten that many books read. I don’t have an exact number I want to read this year, but there are 10 books that I have in my amazon cart that I would love to get through.
I figured there may be some other book worms among us and wanted to share my list with you. So here’s my 2020 reading list.
The Fringe Hours by Jessica Turner
One of my intentions for this year is to be more intentional with my self-care and this is the book that is going to help me with that.
Multiple Intelligences by Howard Gardner
Reading this book will satisfy my science nerd brain. I’ve always had a fascination with the human mind and how it works so to learn a bit more about the different way humans display intelligence should be right up my ally.
Success Affirmations by Jack Canfield
This book is 52 weeks of affirmations for living a passionate and purposeful life and I am excited to add it to my morning routine.
Talking to Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell
As you guys know, meeting more new people is one of my intentions for this year and I’m really looking forward to reading this book to give me some insight on doing that more efficiently.
The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin
James Baldwin is one of the most prolific writers of the 20th century. His work and writings about the tumultuous civil rights movement was a monumental catalyst for change in the United States. Though I know much about the author, I am ashamed to a say, I am not as familiar with his works. So reading the Fire Next time is my first dive into the greatness that is James Baldwin literature.
The Origin of others by Toni Morrison
It’s sad to say that I only started looking into to the life and works of Toni Morrison after she passed away last year. Though in an unfortunate manner, I’m so glad to have discovered her work and am super excited to read the The Origin of others, a book about race, fear, borders, the mass movement of peoples, and the desire for belonging.
The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coats
I’ve actually already started to read this one with the encouragement of Oprah, through her book club, and it is really good so far. Ta-Nehisi is an amazing writer who writes his stories in such an eloquent and fragrant way. The water dancer is a definite must read!
The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod
I have a pretty established morning routine which I find has helped me to be less frantic in the mornings. But, as with all things, there is room for improvement and I am looking forward to reading the Miracle morning to help whip my morning routine more into shape.
The Dirty Lazy Keto Cookbook by Stephanie Laska
As you may or may not know (since I blasted it all over my instatgram), I follow the Keto diet and I love it. Sometimes its hard to think of new meals to cook and I find myself eating the same dishes over and over again which is quite boring. I’m going to read this cook book for some new, exciting recipes to try.
The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
This New York Times Best Seller was all over the media last year about it’s soon coming film adaptation and I was intrigued to see what all the hype was about before the movie comes out.
